Stone Face Tavern gives patrons the opportunity to hit the sand
While most people head to a bar for a drink after work, Mechanical Engineering major Vincent Garcia said he heads to Stone Face Tavern to play volleyball instead.
Stone Face Courts is an indoor/ outdoor sport center that has both open courts and league play, said Garcia, who is playing on a league for the first time.
It’s special because it’s a really fun intramural sport put on through the bar, said Garcia.
“I don’t like to do a regular workout so volleyball is the way I get my exercise in,” said Garcia.
Vincent Garcia said that he grew up with volleyball playing parents, and that for him, it is about spending time with family and friends, not winning.
“We almost always lose our games, and we’ve never won the championship,” said Garcia.
