Independence Week Calendar of Events July 3-8

Fourth of July does not land on the weekend this year, and instead of dedicating one day for Independence Day celebration occasions, here is a calendar of events for five whole days of fun local events. The list below includes fireworks shows, baseball games, concerts, and other free events for students to enjoy.
Wednesday July 3
What: 100.3 the Peak Free Summer Fun Roadshow at Zoo
Where: ABQ Biopark Zoo 903 Tenth Street SW
When: 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Free admission for listeners who download passes from The Peak’s website to ABQ Biopark between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m.

What: Rock Music Concert with Ragdoll, Darken the Day, Parachute Picnic, and Panphobia

What: Celebrate the Golden Age of 90s Pop Rock ‘n’ Roll with Smash Mouth, Sugar Ray and Gin Blossoms

When: 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Ticket prices are $45 in advance ($50 day of concert.)
Proceeds benefit the New Mexico BioPark Society, a non-profit organization supporting the ABQ BioPark Zoo, Aquarium, Botanic Garden and Tingley Beach

Thursday July 4
What: Freedom 4th annual Fourth of July Celebration
Where: Balloon Fiesta Park 5500 Balloon Fiesta Pkwy
When: 4 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. Firework show begins at 9:15 p.m.

The main stage will have local musicians throughout the day featuring national country star John Michael Montgomery, followed by one of the state’s largest fireworks displays
